The “Happy Crabber Trip”

The “Happy Crabber Trip” is a calm-water, educational, family-oriented trip. We start off by fishing for Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish or drifting for Flounder.

Our mission is to ensure a fun, memorable trip where no one gets seasick. If we start out in the ocean and anyone feels uncomfortable, we’ll head back into the calm waters of Pamlico Sound—no problem.

During the last half of the trip, we’ll check Blue Crab traps—pulling them, shaking out the crabs, rebaiting, and resetting them. This is a very interactive part of the trip. The entire catch is yours to keep and enjoy.

This is a great trip for all ages.

What to expect

The Happy Crabber can be a half-day excursion from 7am-12pm or 12pm-5pm, or you can choose to maximize your time on the water with a full-day trip. All equipment is provided, so just bring your sunscreen. Here’s everything you need to know: We’ll start by trolling for Spanish mackerel and bluefish or bottom fishing for flounder, croakers and more. We’ll fish in tranquil Pamlico Sound if the ocean waters are too rough. Then, we’ll pull up the crab traps, sort the crabs, re-bait and reset. You can keep all the fish and crabs you catch to enjoy later! Our crabbing trip is a hands-on experience that both children and adults will love. Book this family-friendly fishing charter today.
